Are you a prospective student in South Africa looking to continue your education at a public university or TVET college but lacking the financial resources to do so? The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is here to help. The NSFAS application for the 2024 academic year is now open and will close on January 31st. It’s important to apply before the closing date, as applications submitted after that will not be considered.
To ensure that you are eligible for NSFAS funding, make sure that your preferred course is on the list of courses that NSFAS will fund in 2024. You can find the full list of NSFAS-funded courses in this article.
Documents Required for NSFAS 2024 Application
When applying for NSFAS 2024, you will need to submit the following documents through the NSFAS website:
A copy of your birth certificate or ID
Copy of ID of parents, guardians, or spouse (if applicable)
Proof of income or IRP5 (if applicable) for one year
Income proof from your parents, guardians, or spouse
(SASSA grant recipients do not need to provide proof of income)
A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form for applicants with disabilities
A Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form for applicants recognized as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development
